Our 2024 Tacoma Sport Wheel Blackout Overlays are an easy, affordable way to transform the look of your Tacoma! Please refer to the following installation guide to help install your overlays.
Step 1. Clean your wheels and ensure they are fully dry, including the space between the rim and tire.
Step 2. Clean the surface of the area the overlay will be applied to with rubbing alcohol. This will remove any remaining oils, grease, and residue that will not allow the adhesive to adhere correctly.
Step 3. Peel the overlay from the backing paper and align to either the left or right edge of the chrome area of the rim. Position it to fit in the curved corner. The overlay should be lined up precisely with the edges.
Step 4. Slowly start applying the overlay to the rim, following the inside curve. The overlay should line up precisely to the curve.
Step 5. Once you make your way to the other side, ensure you line up the overlay to all edges. As you can see in the photo, the overlay may “bubble”, this is perfectly fine, it is important to allow this in order to line up the edges.
Step 6. After all the edges are aligned, work your way from the inside edge to the outside and smooth out any bubbles. You can lift and readjust the overlay if you find any wrinkles.
Step 7. Wrap the remaining overlay around the edge of the rim and ensure it is completely adhered.
Care: DO NOT use a pressure washer to clean your wheels as this may lift the edge of the overlay. We recommend hand washing only.
You will receive a full set to cover all 4 wheels, and 6 spare overlays to use as backups.
These overlays are intended to be a temporary, inexpensive way to transform the look of your wheels. Vinyl is not a replacement for paint or powdercoat, and is more prone to damage and peeling. We do not guarantee longevity, however with proper care they will last!
